About Jonathan
Jonathan Dee Garrard has lived in Lake Point for the majority of his life. He has seen the growth of Tooele County first hand.
For a period of 20 years, Jonathan helped with this growth one home/business at a time. He worked for a local General Contractor and built many residential homes and businesses throughout the county. As the County was growing, Jonathan experienced career growth as well, from laborer to skilled trade, to lead carpenter to foreman. He understands how small businesses are affected by government. In 2014, Jonathan transitioned from Construction to RC Willey in the Home Theatre Install department. He is now learning how large businesses are affected by government, as he advances in this career.
Jonathan has experienced growth in his family.
Seventeen years ago, he married Rhondalyn Sue McLamarrah and together they have added 3 boys and 3 girls to their family. Family is very important to them, and they hope to have more children in the coming years. As their family grows in size, they continue to experience personal development growth. They have found many Mentors throughout Tooele County that have helped in many areas, including financial, emotional, parenting, teaching, serving, and governing to name a few.
Jonathan has a love of learning, coupled with teaching. He worked hard to earn his Eagle Scout Award. He graduated from Tooele High School in 1992, and then attended two years at USU. He has continued that love of learning into adulthood in many areas. He acquired and maintains his Life Insurance license through continuing education courses. He has taken the Master’s Gardener class offered through USU extension. He has been helping his 12 year old learn more about Solar power from a local class and books from the Library. Jonathan and Rhondalyn have taken financial and personal development classes together throughout the years. He has also served his community in different positions for the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts organizations
As growth occurs in Jonathan’s life, he realizes how important it is to be involved with the community. As such, Jonathan tries to keep his community informed of issues that affect their lives. He has served as a county delegate for the past 14 years. He has encouraged people to learn about the Constitution and principles of freedom. He is committed to do all that he can to preserve our freedoms for our posterity.
